NEW NATIONAL MONZA AUTODROME ENTRANCE
Arch. Stefano Scarioni
Arch. Filippo Zanetti
The design aim was to identify styles that evoke the dynamism and speed of the Monza circuit, as opposed to the quiet of the Park; the double symbolism has materialized in two iconic shapes: the first one is the parabolic curve , one of the most recognizable elements of the circuit layout, which is transformed as an identifying element for the new entrance.
The second one is the theme of the tree as a conceptual representation of the idea of a natural park, symbolized by a lamellar wood arch structure, on which a wooden roof reminding the shape of a tree (whose trunk and branches are made of corten steel) acts as a cover at the vehicular entrance and at the pedestrian gate.
